What's Been Happening at KMS

  • AimsWeb Winter Benchmarking is complete.  Data will be used to adjust programs and curriculum for next semester.
  • We are scheduled to administer the pSAT on February 25th to all 7th and 8th grade students.
  • All middle school students took exams in all classes in January.  This is primarily to prepare them to take high school exams, and to increase their “test stamina” for high stakes tests such as MSTEP and pSAT.
  • In January, we studied Guatemala.  We listened to Guatemalan music, read Guatemalan literature, and learned many “fun facts” about Guatemala.
  • We have officially started our IB Application for Authorization!
  • Mr. Price has been busy planning a Career Day for our 8th grade students.
  • 6th Grade students have started their Project Healthy Schools lessons in Health class.
  • 6th Grade students have also started to raise money to buy farm animals for Kenyan families through Heifer International.  This organization is dedicated to providing families with farm animals for food, and education about their maintenance, reproduction, and care.
  • 8th Grade students visited the Dennos Museum and watched a live production about Harriet Tubman and the Underground Railroad.
